At 1:13 a.m. on August 19, 2012, Beaumont police officers were dispatched to the Elegante Hotel, 2355 IH 10 South, in reference to assisting off duty Department of Public Safety officers with a large disturbance. The off duty troopers were working an extra job at the hotel, and upon Beaumont officers arrival they requested even more officers because of the large crowd that was becoming unruly. Officers then deployed their pepper spray to subdue the crowd and take the subject into custody. A second subject was arrested for the interference with the public duties. By this time only a few people were left in the lobby, but they were still being verbally abusive, and one more was arrested for disorderly conduct.
