PINEHURST - The Pinehurst Police Department is releasing surveillance footage to help catch a man accused of using a gun to rob a woman.
According to Chief Fred Hanauer III, on Friday, September 14 the Pinehurst Police Department received a report of an aggravated robbery at a trailer park in the 3800 block of Pheasant Drive.
It was reported to Officer B. Foley that a 16 year-old girl gave a man and woman a ride from a convenience store in the 800 block of Strickland Drive in Orange. They asked to be taken to the trailer park on Pheasant Drive.
Once they arrived, the teen said the man pulled out a handgun and ordered her out of the car. The man and woman drove away in the victim's vehicle. They also took the teen's purse and cell phone. The teen wasn't hurt.
The victim described the man as having a tattoo "sleeve" on his left arm. The vehicle was located a short time later in East Orange.
Aggravated Robbery is a 1st Degree Felony punishable by 5 to 99 years or life in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.
Anyone with information about the identity of the robbers should call Lt. Keith Reneau of the Pinehurst Police Department at 409-886-2221.
