PORT ARTHUR - A woman and her child hid in their home after a juvenile broke in through a glass window early Wednesday morning and became bloodied while cutting himself on the glass, according to the Port Arthur Police Department.
Police say the mother called 911 dispatchers at about 3 a.m. Wednesday and reported that she and her child had taken refuge in a small room of their home in the 3600 block of 3rd Avenue when someone broke in through a window and began wandering through the bedrooms and other parts of the home. He was bleeding profusely.
Officers rushed to the home and saw the young suspect trying to leave in a vehicle.
They arrested him and took him to a hospital for treatment.
PAPD is pursuing burglary charges in the juvenile justice system.
