Detectives believe Holman shot and killed Trazayre Sanders, 20, at about 10 p.m. on August 27 at a home in the 1800 block of Glasshouse Street in north Beaumont.
Sanders was shot several times. Officers found him inside the home. He died at a hospital.
A number of people called 911 to report hearing gunshots.
Holman showed up at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth about 20 minutes after the homicide. He had what police call a minor gunshot wound to his hip.
According to detectives, Holman told doctors he was shot on Gulf Street.
He was taken to jail for outstanding city warrants. Detectives interviewed Holman at that time. He bonded out of jail August 28.
