HARDIN COUNTY - The Texas Department of Public Safety has charged a woman who crashed into a school bus and several other vehicles, according to information released Monday morning by DPS Trooper Stephanie Davis.
Troopers in Hardin County have filed charges of Failure to Control Speed against Sharon West, 58, of Kountze, the driver of a pickup truck involved in the 5 vehicle crash at about 3:45 p.m. October 3 on State Highway 326 between Kountze and Sour Lake.
6 people, including several Kountze ISD students and the school bus driver, received minor injuries.
This crash report is complete and no additional charges are pending.
Failure to Control Speed is a Class C Misdemeanor. A conviction carries with it a fine of up to $500 but no jail time.
The DPS said last week medical conditions may have contributed to the crash.
