HOUSTON (AP) - Houston police say an SUV driver has died after his vehicle hit a parked ambulance in a wreck that injured five emergency responders and a patient's relative.
Police say the ambulance emergency lights were flashing when the SUV struck the vehicle early Monday outside a home.
Four firefighters were in the back of the ambulance treating a man for a possible heart attack. The patient's daughter and another fire department employee were seated in the front of the ambulance. Police say the patient wasn't hurt in the wreck.
Investigators say the emergency responders and the patient's daughter suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening. The heart patient is hospitalized in stable condition.
The name of the driver who died wasn't immediately released
