All parents/guardians of students attending schools in B.I.S.D. are afforded the opportunity to request transfer to the school of their choice. Parents/guardians should be aware that T1 and T2 transfer students are the only transfer students eligible for transportation.
Tier transfers available to students in B.I.S.D. are as follows:
Tier 1- All students who attend the home high school of their zoned middle school and
(a) students attending Caldwood and Fehl/Price who have a dual track attendance zone between the Ozen High School and West Brook High School;
(b) students attending Roy Guess who have a dual track attendance zone between Central High School and West Brook High School
Tier 2 – All students who attend schools where 65% or greater qualify for free and reduced price lunch may transfer to a school where less than 65% of students qualify for free and reduced price lunch. Approval will be granted on a space available basis.
Tier 3 – Low Performing. A student attending a zoned school identified as a low performing campus by the state may request placement in a school out of his/her assigned zone. Transportation is not provided.
Approval will be granted on a space available basis.
Tier 4 – Freedom of Choice. Any student may request a transfer to any school of their choice with the exception of Odom, Ozen, Smith and Central (magnet campuses). Transportation is not provided.
Approval will be granted on a space available basis.

ONE (1) TRANSFER PER CAMPUS
All transfer requests must be submitted to the office of Special Services from January 7 to January 31, 2013.
Doors will open at 7:00 a.m. January 7, 2013 in the Boardroom of the Administration Building. Transfer applications are picked up and returned to Special Services.
NOTE: Parents/students desiring to attend Odom Academy and Ozen High School –Smith Middle School and Central High School must apply directly at those schools due to the “magnet” status of those campuses.

A Todos los padres o tutores de los estudiantes que asistan a las escuelas de B.I.S.D. se les dará la oportunidad de solicitar una transferencia a la escuela de su elección. Los Padres/Tutores deben estar conscientes que las transferencias de estudiantes T1 y T2 son las únicas transferencias que tienen servicio de transporte.
Las categorias de transferencia disponibles para los estudiantes de B.I.S.D. son las siguientes:
Tier 1 (Categoría 1) – Todos los estudiantes que asistirán a la preparatoria(high School) que les corresponde en relación a la ubicación de su secundaria (middle school) y
(a) los estudiantes que asisten a Caldwood y Price, que tienen zona dual entre Ozen High School y West Brook High School;
(b) los estudiantes que asisten a Roy Guess que tienen zona dual entre Central High School y West Brook High School.
Tier 2 (Categoría 2)– Los estudiantes que asisten a escuelas en donde un 65% o más califiquen para lunch gratis o precio reducido pueden solicitar la transferencia a una escuela en donde menos del 65% califican para lunch gratis o precio reducido.
La aprobación se concederá con base a la disponibilidad.
Tier 3(Categoría 3)– Bajo Rendimiento. Un estudiante que asiste a una escuela identificada por el estado como una escuela de bajo rendimiento puede solicitar una colocación en una escuela fuera de su zona asignada.
No se proporciona servicio de transporte.
La aprobación se concederá con base a la disponibilidad.
Tier 4(Categoría 4)– Libertad de Elección. Cualquier estudiante puede solicitar una transferencia a cualquier escuela de su elección con la excepción de Central, Odom, Ozen, y Smith

SOLO SE LES PERMITIRA UNA (1) TRANSFERENCIA POR ESCUELA
Todas las solicitudes de transferencia deben presentarse en la oficina de Servicios Especiales a partir del 6 de Febrero al 30 de Marzo del 2012.
Las puertas estarán abiertas a las 7:00 a.m. el 6 Febrero del 2011 en
el Board Room del Edificio Administrativo
Las Solicitudes de Transferencia se recogerán y regresarán a Servicios Especiales.
NOTA: Los padres de los estudiantes que desean asistir a Central High School, Odom Academy, Ozen High School y Smith Middle School y deben solicitarlo directamente a las escuelas debido a su programa “magnet”que se lleva en estas escuelas.
