GROVES-By: Leslie Rangel
Police are searching for 2 men who followed a convenience store owner from the bank back to his business at the Food Spot #2 on Monroe near Twin City Highway.
He's managed the store for 18 years and Wednesday was the second time in less than 2 weeks he's been robbed.
Farooq Sattar says after he left from the bank, he drove back to his store and when he began opening the door to his van, the 2 men stopped him and pulled out a gun.
"They came out form the car with a gun, they put it on my head, they opened the whole door, they put me on the floor and said give me your money," Sattar tells KFDM News.
Last Thursday, two men with masks ran inside his store soon after it had opened and took money from his brother.
Sattar says he wants police to find the people who robbed him and teach him ways to avoid becoming a victim again.
"They need a lot of presence from the police, they need to make lots of trips. A lot of customers aren't coming and really we are scared, it has to be resolved," Sattar said.
The robbers were driving a silver KIA SUV. Police say it was taken from Enterprise Rental at Houston's Hobby Airport about a week ago.
The license plate number is BCZ5558. Call Groves police at 409-962-0244 if you have any information.
