BEAUMONT - By Megan Dillard - Just a few moments ago, the Carnival Triumph cruise ship finally pulled into port in Mobile, Alabama. People aboard a disabled carnival cruise ship were hoping to be on land early this afternoon but as with the rest of the trip, things didn't exactly work out as planned. The ship pulled out of Galveston last week on a four day cruise. A fire in the engine room last weekend left the ship without power and with little electricity. Tow boats pulled the ship toward Mobile, Alabama. Today, crews had to repair a broken tow line, further delaying the ship's arrival. The ship started the docking process shortly after nine along the Mobile port. Passengers still have several hours to wait to get off the ship. KFDM spoke with a woman and her husband who were celebrating their 22nd wedding anniversary on the cruise. The couple from Nederland is still on the ship awaiting land arrival in the Port of Mobile. Thanks to technology we were able to talk with Libby Mitchell and her husband using FaceTime, just a few hours ago. The couple is okay though they say they've been packed and ready to de-board since six this morning. "The tension has been growing today I think. We've seen more tension today than we have the last few days. I think people are ready to get off and we're all just trying to stay calm and hopefully we'll be off in a few hours." Words of hope from a woman and her husband celebrating a wedding anniversary just days ago. Mitchell posted all of these pictures on her Facebook page. She says she is most upset about the way Carnival handled communication after the fire. This photo shows smoke coming from the ship Sunday morning. Mitchell says crews told people there was a situation in the engine room and to go back to bed. This next photo shows the view from the deck of the ship tilting to one side. Mitchell says this is when drains started to overflow and when the whole place started to smell like raw sewage. Here's a picture of the sandwiches crews passed out. Mitchell says they were only without running water for one day, but food has been light the entire time, and there are only three working toilets on the whole ship. The crew passed out plastic bags as substitutes for the restroom. Mitchell says people have huddled into small neighborhoods all over the ship. She explains everyone is riding an emotional rollercoaster. "On one floor people are breaking down crying, in another, they're laughing and giggling. It just comes and goes. You have your bad moments and your good moments. I think people with children and handicapped family members are having a much rougher time so our hearts go out to them." Mitchell says Carnival has offered a full refund, $500 per passenger, and another cruise, though it will be a long time before she and her husband cash in on that.Nederland couple stuck on disabled cruise ship
