CALCASIEU PARISH - by Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office
On February 12, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to a home on Kingham Street in Lake Charles in reference to a disturbance.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered Matthew F. Taylor, 42, Lake Charles, struck a 72 year old female family member numerous times causing severe bruising. The investigation also revealed the elderly victim had an active protective order against Taylor.

On February 22, Taylor, who has a lengthy criminal history which includes six arrests for simple battery against the same female family member since 2005, was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with violation of a protective order; 2nd degree battery; and cruelty to the infirmed.
Judge Wilford Carter set his bond at $75,000.
