BEAUMONT - The Beaumont Fire Department has released the name of a man who died in a dumpster fire.
Karl Aldrich Lillyquist, 58, was killed in the fire early Tuesday morning. Investigators say he died of smoke inhalation and investigators are calling the death accidental.
Capt. Brad Penisson with the Beaumont Fire Department tells KFDM News a neighbor called 911 at about 2:15 a.m. to report a dumpster fire at the Exxon gas station at the corner of Cardinal and Highland Avenue. After firefighters put out the flames they discovered a body inside the dumpster behind the convenience store.
The body was partially burned and there was no identification.
Fire and police investigators were on the scene for nearly 5 hours.
