Flash Flood Watch for several counties in Southeast Texas

SOUTHEAST TEXAS - A Flash Flood watch is in effect until 6 p.m. for a number of counties in Southeast Texas, including Jefferson, Hardin, Orange, Tyler, Jasper and Newton.

KFDM Chief Meteorologist Greg Bostwick says a line of storms and thunderstorms moved through the area at about 20-25 mph. Some areas received about an inch of rain. Maximum wind gusts were about 30 mph. There was no severe weather and no reports of flooding in our area. Rain remains in the forecast for the next few days.


Wind gusts up to 60 mph Tuesday in Houston snapped tree limbs in some areas. No injuries are reported.


Some parts of the Houston area have seen as much as five inches of rain since Monday. Water is pooling on some streets and highways in the Houston area, causing problems for drivers.
