The Jasper County Grand Jury has handed up a murder indictment against a teenager accused of shooting and killing another teen late last month.

18-year-old Rodarrion Armstrong is accused of shooting 19-year-old Obrien Lamar Parks with a shotgun at a home in the 1300 block of North Bowie Street on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 28th. Parks died shortly after arrival at Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital.

Armstrong turned himself in at police headquarters a short time later, and was charged in the crime. His bond was set at $1 million, and he remains behind bars.

The following day, Officer Lawson Dry located the alleged murder weapon outside of an abandoned house at an undisclosed location.

On Wednesday, Grand Jurors chose to indict Armstrong after they saw and heard evidence presented by District Attorney Steve Hollis.

If convicted, Armstrong faces 5 to 99 years in state prison, and a fine up to $10,000.00.
