Entergy update on storm-related power outages

SOUTHEAST TEXAS - Entergy has restored power to thousands of customers who lost electricity when thunderstorms blew across Southeast Texas. As of noon Friday, about 2,000 customers remained without power and some may not have electricity until 11 p.m.

Thunderstorms packing strong winds blew across the region Thursday, sending trees and trees limbs into power lines. At the height of the storm more than 22,000 people had lost electricity, including more than 17,000 in Port Arthur.


At noon Friday about 1,500 people in Port Arthur and roughly 700 in Beaumont were without power.


Debi Derrick with Entergy Texas told KFDM News about 200 workers are in the field to restore power.
