Dalila's maximum sustained winds early Wednesday are near 75 mph (120 kph). The hurricane is expected to begin slowly weakening Thursday.
Dalila is centered about 220 miles (350 kilometers) west-southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico, and is moving southwest near 2 mph (4 kph).
The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami says swells generated by Dalila are affecting parts of Mexico's southwestern coast and could cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions.
