58 Lamar Athletes Named to SLC Commissioner's Honor Roll

FRISCO, Texas - Nearly 60 Lamar student-athletes in nine sports were named to the Capital One/Southland Conference Commissioner's Spring Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced Monday.
The LU baseball team led the way with 15 players named to the honor roll, women's track had eight, women's tennis and men's track each had seven athletes, men's tennis had six, women's basketball had five, men's basketball had four while men's and women's golf each had three players on the honor roll.
A total of 24athletes had at least a 3.5 grade-point average with 10 of those posting a perfect 4.0 GPA. Along with their place on the honor roll Samuel Kosgei of men's track and Therese Nilsson of women's golf were the respective men's indoor track and field and women's golf student-athletes of the year.
Presented by Capital One Bank, the honor roll recognizes student-athletes who have earned a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher and have been eligible to compete in his or her sport during the 2009 spring semester.
