West Brook Named Army Strong Team of the Week

Beaumont, Texas – November 24, 2009 – Dave Campbell’s Texas Football is proud to announce that the West Brook High School Bruins football team has been named the Army Strong Team of the Week for Division 5A.

The West Brook Bruins were chosen for this honor because of their teamwork, dedication, discipline, personal courage and integrity, values shared by U.S. Army Soldiers.

“West Brook had one of the weekend’s biggest upsets when the Bruins intercepted a pass in the final seconds to secure a 26-21 win over state-ranked Fort Bend Hightower,” said Adam Hochfelder, general manager of Dave Campbell's Texas Football. “The Panthers are now 9-3 and advance to face Katy Cinco Ranch in the Division I Region III semifinals.”

The award will be presented to the team at a time to be determined later this week by a representative of the U.S. Army.

"The U.S. Army is recognizing the student-athletes at West Brook High School for demonstrating qualities similar to those exhibited by its Soldiers. Student-athletes and Soldiers share similar values, but more importantly they must be mentally, emotionally and physically strong," said Captain Eric Mendoza. "We expect to see some of these young men competing at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, the college level, or maybe even professionally in the future."
