Rain causes section of asphalt on road to crumble in north Beaumont

BEAUMONT - All of this rain has caused some problems on a road in north Beaumont.

Watch KFDM News and stay with for the latest on the forecast.

A large section of asphalt crumbled on Lucas near Abilene Street, east of Highway 69 in Beaumont.

Workers with the city Streets Department put up a barricade and set down bright orange cones near the section of asphalt to steer drivers away from the crumbled asphalt.

There was standing water on the road when we took video this morning even though the storms had moved out of the area well before we came there.
