Buna man accused of stealing $13,500 from employer

JASPER COUNTY - by Steve W Stewart/KJAS & Rayburn Broadcasting Company

Jasper County Sheriff Mitchel Newman has announced that his deputies have arrested a Buna man, accused of stealing $13,500.00 from his employer over the last two years.

According to Newman, Investigator Jason McClelland had been working case, which involved Ben Bruce Memorial Air Park Raceway in Evadale.

Newman said the employee, 57-year-old Robert Kibble, was arrested, and he allegedly confessed to the crime.

On Monday, Captain Bob Walker said Kibble worked at the racetrack on weekends, and his job was to pump racing fuel into the race cars, and collect the money. However, Walker said Kibble was keeping some of the money, and several of the thefts were captured on video.

Kibble later appeared before County Judge Mark Allen and he was charged with felony theft. His bond was set at $25,000.00, and he was later released after posting bond.
