JASPER - A truck loaded with gravel overturned early Monday morning in Jasper County, forcing law enforcement officers to close the intersection of Highway 190 at US 96.

Our media partner in Jasper, KJAS/Rayburn Broadcasting Company and reporter Steve W Stewart, contributed to the story and provided the pictures.

Investigators expect the highway to remain closed until about 10 a.m. or later while crews clean up the gravel and clear the accident scene.

Witnesses told Jasper Police the driver of the 18 wheeler was traveling south on Highway 96 at about 7 a.m. Monday when he tried to turn onto westbound Highway 190. The Freighliner rolled over on Highway 190, just past the busiest intersection in Jasper.

The driver wasn't hurt. Workers from the Texas Department of Transportation are removing the gravel and trying to clear the accident scene.
