Stockman speaks at Tea Party meeting, discusses rodeo clown dispute

BEAUMONT - The economy and health care are hot topics in politics. And now you can add a rodeo clown.

The actions of a rodeo clown in Missouri have sparked national debate.

Last week the clown put on a Barack Obama mask at the Missouri State Fair and some witnesses say the announcer asked the crowd if it wanted the bull to trample Obama.

Congressman Steve Stockman of Southeast Texas has invited the rodeo clown to perform in the Lone Star State.

Stockman says the negative reaction amounts to liberals targeting the man for personal destruction.

The congressman spoke at a Tea Party meeting Monday night and prior to the meeting KFDM News asked him about the rodeo clown dispute.

In Stockman's words: "Liberals want to bronco bust dissent."

He says Texans value speech.
