Just a few showers and thunderstorms will be possible over the next few days due mainly to daytime heating.  A much better coverage of rain can be expected Thursday into Friday as a cold front moves in from the northwest.  This front will bring us cooler and drier air over the weekend.

Beaumont man shot in the leg

Beaumont police officers responded to a "victim of a shooting" at about 6:40 p.m. Thursday in the 1400 block of Magnolia.

When officers arrived at the scene they found a man shot in the right left.

Police say the man was in the store cashing a check, when the shooter walked up behind him and shot him.

According to police the shooter was later identified as a 20-year-old man named Edward Tezeno who was located in the 6000 block of South M.L.K. by Beaumont police officers and taken into custoy around 12:10 a.m. Friday.

Tezeno is being charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to police.

The victim, whose name is not being released at this time, was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital.
