A serviceman who was injured in Iraq two years ago has returned from his base at Fort Hood to a warm welcome home.

Family and friends organized a surprise party for Leslie Lovelace at James Brown's Gumbo Shack in Vidor.

Shrapnel wounded the army specialist in 2011 when he was serving in Iraq.

His family wanted to show Lovelace how much they wanted him back home in Orange County the serviceman, his wife, and daughter were treated to lunch.

When lunch was over a motorcycle group honored Lovelace with a convoy down Highway 105 to his home in Vidor.

Lovelace graduated from little Cypress Mauriceville high school in 2007.

He'll begin classes at Lamar University next year.
