Truck driver killed in Tyler County crash
TYLER COUNTY - A truck driver has died after losing control of his vehicle and striking a culvert before the rig came to rest in a wooded area off Highway 190 in Tyler County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
This story comes to us through KFDM's media parternship with KJAS in Jasper.
According to a report filed by Trooper Buck Odom, 67-year-old Grady Lee Perkins of Newton was traveling west on U.S. Highway 190, eight miles east of Woodville, at about 5 a.m. Tuesday.
The 2005 Peterbilt left the highway, struck a culvert and went about 75 feet into a densely wooded area.
The impact knocked down several trees and destroyed the cab of the truck.
Perkins was pronounced dead at the scene by a Tyler County Justice of the Peace.
