Teacher plans to run in Democratic primary for Stockman seat

ORANGE COUNTY - Congressman Stockman may end up facing a teacher from Southeast Texas in next year's general election.

Michael Cole a teacher at Little Cypress Mauriceville High School plans to run in the democratic primary next year.

KFDM News met with the 37-year-old from Orange and asked his thoughts about the rodeo clown incident and Congressman Stockman.

The teacher from Orange works with students who have disciplinary problems at LC-M High School.  He's also the sponsor of the chess and robotics team.

He says he wants to challenge Stockman because Cole says Stockman "doesn't have much to bring to his district".

Cole points to 14 bills submitted by Stockman that Cole says failed to gain enough notice to be passed out of committee.

The potential challenger talked to us about ideas he wants to bring to the table.

The primary for the 36th Congressional District will be March 4, 2014.
