Robber pistol-whips man at PA store

A suspect was identified and interviewed by investigators in connection to the robbery of a clerk at Top Dollar Monday evening, according to Port Arthur police.

The weapon used in the robbery was recovered by investigators, Port Arthur police stated.

Authorities believe that no other people were involved in the robbery.

A case is being prepared to be presented to the Jefferson County District Attorney, Port Arthur police stated.

Once there is an indictment or a warrant is issued the suspect's name can be released, Port Arthur police stated.

PORT ARTHUR - Port Arthur police are investigating a robbery in which an attacker struck a man with a pistol and took his money.

Police responded to the call shortly before 8 p.m. Monday in the 1900 block of 9th Avenue.

The victim told investigators a man with a gun pistol-whipped him and took his money.

The man was hurt but refused medical treatment.

Police haven't made an arrest.
