Texas police nab 4th suspect in restaurant slaying
HOUSTON (AP) -- Police have arrested the final suspect in a Houston restaurant holdup that left a customer dead and an employee wounded.
Twenty-year-old Kenya Jackson turned himself in to authorities Wednesday and has been charged with capital murder. Police on Tuesday announced the arrest of 18-year-old Leroy Houston, while 20-year-old Corey Hilton and 18-year-old Mario Hilton remain jailed after being booked last weekend. Charges are pending against Houston while the Hiltons are charged with capital murder.
Investigators say the Hiltons and Jackson are suspected of wearing masks and opening fire Aug. 26 at a Denny's restaurant. Customers and the business were robbed.
Customer Robert Placette of Katy was killed. Authorities say he was shot as he attempted to shield children.
A worker suffered wounds not believed to be life-threatening.
