A little better coverage of showers can be expected Wednesday as deeper moisture should move northward off the Gulf.  The next cold front will be in our area Friday morning with scattered showers and thunderstorms rather likely Thursday evening into Friday.  Cooler and drier air will take over this weekend.

New ATV safety presentations at schools after two local boys killed in ATV crashes

KFDM News - All terrain vehicle accidents within a week and only miles apart have prompted the Texas Department of Public Safety to offer safety programs in Southeast Texas.

The accidents earlier this summer killed two boys, a 12-year-old and a 14 year-old. Neither boy was wearing a helmet.

Today, DPS joined forces with two other groups to present safety education programs at Kountze Intermediate School and Kountze High School.

The programs were open to students and parents. The goal to teach them about all terrain vehicle safety, the importance of staying off paved roads and wearing helmets
