Cafeteria worker killed by estranged husband outside high school in Katy

KATY- by KHOU 11 News and

Fort Bend County Sheriffs deputies say a man accused of shooting and killing his estranged wife Friday morning outside of a high school in Katy was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in his Brookshire home.

Deputies arrived to find two coaches performing CPR on a 32-year-old woman at Tompkins High School, located in the 4400 block of Falcon Landing, around 6 a.m. The woman was a cafeteria worker.

Witnesses said they first heard a pop, then saw a man with a shotgun leave the scene in a truck. Authorities believe the suspect was heading toward the Brookshire area.

The shooting happened on school grounds, but not inside the building.

Several agencies are working the scene.
