Cancer survivors gathered for Philpott and Gift of Life program

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and several area organizations are teaming up to get the word out.

Several dozen cancer survivors got together at Philpott Motors on Thursday.

Philpott and the Julie Rogers Gift of Life program sponsored the event, which is designed to help raise the spirits and hopes of those who are impacted by breast cancer.

Philpott's contributions have supported the program's educational outreach and provided nearly 70 free clinical breast exams, mammograms and access to follow-up cancer treatment for medically under-served women.
