Synopsis.......

 

A little better coverage of showers can be expected Wednesday as deeper moisture should move northward off the Gulf.  The next cold front will be in our area Friday morning with scattered showers and thunderstorms rather likely Thursday evening into Friday.  Cooler and drier air will take over this weekend.

Man found dead on ship in Port Arthur

PORT ARTHUR - Port Arthur Police are investigating the death of a man they believe may have suffocated in a tank filled with nitrogen on a barge.

Someone called emergency operators at about 5:15 p.m. Sunday to report a man down inside a barge near the Procter Street Extension.

The man was in a compartment filled with nitrogen.

The man was dead by the time first responders arrived.

Police say the victim is a 60-year-old man from Orange. They aren't releasing his name.

A justice of the peace has ordered an autopsy.
