Council hires second police chief in less than a month
JASPER - By Justin Hinton, KFDM News
The Jasper City Council voted unanimously to hire Robert MacDonald (pictured above) as police chief just weeks after the man they originally hired turned in his resignation letter.
I feel pretty good. It was a very tough decision for council to make between myself and the other gentleman who originally got the position and turned it down, said MacDonald.
Aaron Tsksinsky turned down the job just days after the council hired him citing family considerations and finishing his doctoral degree.
It wasn't much of a move to go to Mr. MacDonald because they had a lot of trouble in deciding between the two in their original decision, said Mayor Mike Lout.
MacDonald is expected to begin work November 1. He says in the meantime, he plans on getting to know his new community members and building relationships.
