Police search for armed robbers
PORT ARTHUR - by Ashley Gaston - A store clerk locked himself in the cooler while three men wearing masks and carrying guns robbed his customers inside a Port Arthur convenience store.
Police believe the men will strike again if officers don't find them and arrest them.
I was scared a little bit. I see from the widow 2 men came with guns, said Abdul Karim Bhutto.
This is surveillance video of a Sunday robbery at Food Stop # 8 on 32nd Street in Port Arthur.
Abdul Karim Bhutto was inside the cooler, stocking the shelves when he saw two men looking for him.
I was pushing this handle inside, so nobody can open it, said Bhutto.
Bhutto locked himself in the cooler and dialed 911.
They realized the clerk wasn't there, it threw them off for a second, said Ofc. Mike Hebert.
One of the robbers pointed a 12 gauge shotgun toward a customer's face.
He said he was scared to death, when you get a shotgun stuck in your face it's a very traumatizing experience, said Ofc. Hebert.
One attacker wore a Pirate's baseball hat and the other a plaid shirt. He has a widows peak.
Very unique hairline on this one particular individual, said Ofc. Hebert.
Port Arthur Police hope features stand out enough so someone will turn in the robbers.
They were very braising at what they did. They were fast in and fast out. That's our concern theyre going to hit again.
The cooler protected Bhutto this time.
I am lucky. I feel lucky, said Bhutto.
Port Arthur Police ask you to call 983-8680 if you recognize the men.
