Non-profit thanks city council for supporting their ongoing contract

A non profit organization that employs people with disabilities thanked city council today for supporting their on-going contract

Beaumont Products and Services gave city council a picture of its employees.

The 13 employees pick up litter and trash across the city as well as in downtown Beaumont.

Most employees were born with a disability and work for minimum wage at 40 hours a week.  The contract also covers most of downtown Beaumont including, Riverfront Park, city hall grounds, Julie Rogers Theater and the police department.

The manager of the company says the employees feel fulfilled by working to help them maintain a living.

The company has had to cut employees due to state budget costs.
It is always looking for new contracts specializing in lawn maintenance.
