Baby Faith in therapeutic foster home

PORT ARTHUR - Child Protective Services says a three month old baby police say was severely beaten by her parents is out of a hospital and now in a foster home.

CPS took custody of baby Faith Mason in August when she was four weeks old and has now been placed in a therapeutic foster home.

The foster parent of the home was trained on how to handle Faith's needs. She suffered nearly two dozen broken bones and injuries to her brain. CPS said her fractures are healing.

Doctors said the baby is the victim of the worst case of child abuse they've seen. CPS said considering Faith's injuries she has come a long way and is doing pretty well.

The child's mother, Christine Johnson, is charged with injury to a child and her bond is $250,000.

Her father, 17-year-old Darrell Mason, is charged with injury a child by omission. His bond is $200,000. Police also arrested Mason last month.

Both are in the Jefferson County Jail.
