KJAS: Driver injured in rain related rollover

JASPER- by Steve W Stewart/KJAS

A north Jasper County man suffered what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries following an early Sunday morning accident. The crash occurred at about 4:30 on a rain soaked Highway 63 West, near the entrance to Ryall Acres, just west of Jasper.

Emergency responders arrived to find a late model Dodge pickup truck on its side next to the highway, and deputies helped the driver to crawl out.

The driver was identified by his mother as 32-year-old Patrick Day, who lives at Lake Sam Rayburn.

Day was transported by ambulance to Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Day's mother said he called her on his cell phone after the crash and told her that he hydroplaned.
