Dr. Chargois apologizes to board for "Super News"

BEAUMONT - By Justin Hinton, KFDM News

KFDM News has learned Superintendent of the Beaumont school district, Dr. Timothy Chargois, has apologized to the Board of Trustees for the content that "may not be original" in the "Super News" newsletter in an email.

In the email dated November 20, Dr. Chargois said the following:

"It has come to my attention that some of the information in my Super News may not be original. I believe there was no intent to deceive but to expeditiously bring clarity to some important topics of concern. Every opportunity to cite and give credit to their work and to bring worthiness of the topic should have been given and made. In no way am I trying to explain away an error, and as I have often stated, I have to hold myself accountable to every word and to a higher standard."

"Know that I take this matter seriously and will handle it expediently and thoroughly. Although I never publicly reprimand employees I do believe it appropriate to reprimand myself. This should NEVER have happened and ultimately with my signature I am responsible. I deeply apologize and will ensure that it does not happen again."
