Whole Women's Health responds to safety violations
BEAUMONT-By: Leslie Rangel
The Whole Women's Health Clinic of Beaumont who also performs abortions in addition to women's health care has delivered a correction plan for health violations found by the state health department.
We first reported about the clinic's health violations in late October.
A seventeen page inspection report showed a number of safety violations including holes in the floors of the clinic that could quote, make it easy access to rodents.
In the report, the clinic addresses the complaints and promises to repair the holes in the cabinet flooring beneath the pathology sink as well as repaint it.
In the health department complaints, there were rusty parts were found on suction machines used on patients for evacuation of the products of conception.
The clinic administrator says they fixed those violations by removing all rusty areas or had them replaced if they could not be repaired.
The clinic also says by December first they will have a drill to familiarize all staff with working defibrillators and EKG machines.
The previous inspection report showed there was not one in the clinic that was ready for use.
The clinic also promises to stop the practice of pre-filled unlabeled medicine cups.
The health department said that could lead the clinic to give the wrong medicine or dosage to patients.
We still have not heard back from whole women's health about the state health reports.
The health department says the clinic will be allowed to continue serving women as long as they are in compliance.
