Enterprise Fund to help add over 200 jobs to Beaumont

Governor Rick Perry's Texas Enterprise Fund has given $2 million to Natgasoline to help add 240 jobs in Beaumont.

It's all a part of a new billion dollar project that will create the nation's largest methanol facility right here in Southeast Texas.

The taxpayer-funded grant was announced today and is pending approval of additional incentives from the city of Beaumont, Jefferson County and the Beaumont school district.

It'll create 3,000 construction jobs and about 240 permanent jobs when it finished.

The plant has to secure several permits first, both on a state and national level, but is expected to begin construction by next summer.

Natgasoline hopes to have it completed by 2016.
