Two Lake Charles men arrested by Beaumont police
Two Lake Charles men are in jail after being arrested by Beaumont police on Tuesday.
Officers with the Beaumont Police Special Assignments Unit were conducting surveillance around Calder and I-10 when they observed two men, 50-year-old Saunders Joel Reynaud of Lake Charles and 49-year-old Marvin Gauthier of Lake Charles, casing Fast Cash Payday Loans in the 3100 block of Calder, according to Beaumont police.
Gauthier left the area in a white Escort after dropping Reynaud off, and officers caught Reynaud after he pried open the back door of the business, according to Beaumont police.
Reynaud was arrested for burglary and was booked on a $10,000 bond at the Jefferson County Jail, according to police.
Officers stopped the white Escort in the 3100 block of Laurel and Gauthier, the driver and only occupant, had crack cocaine in his possession and was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and booked on a $5,000 bond at the Jefferson County Jail, according to Beaumont police.
