We still have an active weather pattern for Sunday into next week with locally heavy thunderstorms developing with daytime heating. Some of the storms will produce gusty winds and frequent lightning strikes. Rain chances remain high for mid week as a cold front sags south into East Texas.

Port Arthur city council voted against opening a Hobby Lobby but will vote again Tuesday

PORT ARTHUR - by Justin Hinton

The return of Hobby Lobby to Port Arthur hit a setback after a city council meeting last week, but efforts are underway to try again.

Councilmember Elizabeth Segler has asked for the issue to be placed on Tuesday's agenda.

One Facebook group is pushing for the measure to pass. The group is called Bring Hobby Lobby Back to Port Arthur, Texas. It has almost 5,000 likes on the Facebook page.

The group describes its mission as a grassroots effort  to bring the crafts store back.

But as KFDM's Justin Hinton explains, it's not quite that simple.
