New information on missing Jasper man
SABINE COUNTY- by Haley Bull
Law enforcement officers are not drawing any link between the indictment and the disappearance of the 28-year old man.
Information from the federal court system shows a grand jury in Tennessee indicted Alfred Nehemiah Wright for theft, embezzlement or misapplication by a bank employee. According to a federal spokesperson, the indictment stems from an incident in January 2011.
Court documents show he was arrested and appeared in a federal magistrate's courtroom in Beaumont in April. The court appointed a public defender. Wright posted a $50,000 bond and was released. According to the federal court system information, the charges are pending.
Wright was last seen Thursday, Nov. 7th. His family said he called his wife after his truck broke down in Hemphill. When his parents went to check on him, they couldn't find him. That's when the search for the father of three started.
The Sabine County Sheriff's Office, volunteers, family, friends and other law enforcement officers began searching for Wright. Investigators said they found pieces of his clothing, including scrubs and socks.
Officers have ended the organized ground search but they continue looking for Wright.
KFDM News spoke with Alfred Wright's mother and sister-in-law. Both said they didn't know about the indictment.
Wright's sister-in-law said there is a reward for information that leads to Wright.
