Board votes to move forward with termination process

BEAUMONT - By Justin Hinton, KFDM News

In two unanimous votes, the Beaumont school board decided to move forward with the termination process of the districts finance director, Devin McCraney, and comptroller, Sharika Allison. The vote does not mean the two have been fired.

The employees will be allowed an opportunity to request a hearing if they so choose.

At that hearing, they can elect to go before the Board of Trustees themselves or have an independent hearing examiner hear evidence and present his or her findings to the board.

The employees will have 15 days from the time they receive written notification informing them about the process.

If they choose to opt out of a hearing, the board will vote to terminate their position.
