Testimony begins in Hardin County murder trial
HARDIN COUNTY - Testimony is underway in the trial of a man charged with murdering a Lamar University freshman.
18-year-old Brian Drake was killed in November of last year. He died from a bullet that went through the headrest of his truck and hit him the back of the head.
Hardin County prosecutors charged two men with murder. Curtis Glaze is on trial this week. His cousin, Joshua Glaze, was also charged. He hasn't gone to trial. If convicted, they could face up to life in prison.
Deputies say Drake was trying to get away from the cousins. Investigators say they were in their vehicle chasing Drake on Highway 326 between Kountze and Sour Lake. According to the Sheriff's Office, the suspects fired several shots at Drake's truck. One bullet struck the teenager. His truck veered off the highway and went over an embankment before it came to rest in a field. He died at the scene.
