BEAUMONT - Beaumont Police have identified a man who died when a driver crashed into him and left the scene.
Devin Kyle Julian, 33, of Beaumont, died early Friday morning. A police officer found his body at about 5:30 a.m. on a grassy area, near a utility pole, off the Eastex Freeway close to Crow Road, not far from Mazzio's Pizza.
Police say results of a preliminary autopsy should take two to four weeks.
Investigators are asking workers at local auto body repair shops to watch for anyone who tries to repair damage to the front right section of their vehicle. Specifically, police believe the vehicle has damage to its right front headlight cover, right front turn signal lens cover, or right front side marker cover.
