Another hot start for the coast and the lakes. With moisture in place, we could see a repeat of the isolated showers and t-storms as we saw yesterday. Highs today will again reach the lower 90's. By Friday and through the weekend, we will see the moisture out and hot temps on the rise. Look for mid and upper 90's by Sunday and Monday.

North Texas icy weather cancels SETX flights

JEFFERSON COUNTY - By Justin Hinton, KFDM News

Travelers with flights to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport scheduled for Friday had to make alternate plans after icy conditions in North Texas led to the cancellation of all local flights.

I just wanted to get back home for the weekend with family and go back to work next week, so I guess one more day on the road and we'll have the same plan, said traveler Mike Minihan.

Minihans wife called him and told him his flight back home to Kansas was cancelled. He drove to Jack Brooks Regional Airport to make other arrangements.

The best part about today is that I came to the airport and there was no line, so I could get some help a lot faster than I could by calling in, because there was a two hour wait by calling in, he said.

After speaking with a TSA agent, he was booked on another flight scheduled for Sunday.

It wasnt a problem for Minihan who now has an excuse for not helping his wife with a special project back home.

Shes setting up Christmas, so that will work good for me, he said.
Dean Priddy of Mid-County said he was trying to get to South Dakota for a pheasant hunting trip with friends and family.

We really enjoy it, he said. I mean, it's not life and death by any stretch of the imagination, but it's a lot of fun.

A cancelled flight means he will have to alter his plans in order to meet his group for their annual trip.

When you got several people you're trying to coordinate with that far away, it makes it a little challenging.

The next flight out is scheduled for Saturday morning, but TSA agents say its all booked. (Update: As of 6:36 p.m. lists that flight as cancelled.)

The next flight after that is Sunday.

They encourage people to check their flight status online or by calling to make sure their reservations have not changed.
