Jasper County Sheriff's Office looking for woman accused of abusing, neglecting 16 animals

The Jasper County sheriff's office is looking for the woman they say is responsible for the abuse and neglect that led to the euthanization of 16 animals.

There are two warrants against the woman for animal cruelty and interfering with public duties.

After the owners of the house saw certain images, which you can view in our video report, they evicted the woman living there.

The sheriff's office is now trying to locate her.

In November investigators  found nearly all of the 17 cats and dogs in the home in poor health, lacking shelter and water. Many were malnourished, some were blind and all but one dog were in too poor condition to live.

Investigators said it was one of the most extreme cases they've seen.

The only surviving dog was a neighbor's dog that strayed and was reunited with her family this week.
