Texas Rangers take lead in Alfred Wright death investigation

HOUSTON At the request of Sabine County Sheriff, Thomas N. Maddox, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Texas Rangers are now the lead investigators on a recent missing person case in Sabine County.

DPS has assisted the Sabine County Sheriff Department since the beginning of the investigation.

The Texas Rangers will continue to utilize their expertise and resources as this investigation continues, and the Wright family and the community can be assured that we are committed to upholding the integrity of this investigation and determining the facts surrounding this case as soon as possible," said DPS Regional Commander Phillip Steen, DPS Region 2.
