Local military surprise: Navy sailor surprises mom in Orange

KFDM News - Most any kind of military homecoming is nice, but seeing a son surprise his mom is just heartwarming.

James Rhodes is in the Navy and told his mother, who lives in Orange, that he wouldn't be home for the holidays.

The last time the sailor was home was for his father's funeral, which was about a year ago.

His mother was surprised to see her son. Rhodes told her he wouldn't be able to come home until about April.

It was extra special because Rhodes managed to plan his surprise on his mother's birthday.
