Moisture levels will remain rather high for the next few days with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible.  Some of the heaviest activity will likely be around the end of the week.  With more clouds and scattered showers, temperatures will be cooler for afternoon highs.

Man critically hurt when struck by car outside nightclub

PORT ARTHUR - Port Arthur Police are investigating an auto-pedestrian collision in which a man was critically hurt after he was struck by a car following a possible disturbance outside a nightclub.


Someone called 911 to report a man down shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday outside the Capri Club in the 8500 block of 9th Avenue in Port Arthur.


Police say a 72-year-old man was struck by a car and the driver left the scene. Investigators say the man was struck either during or after a possible disturbance outside of the nightclub.


Investigators are looking for the driver.


The victim was listed in critical condition at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth.
